This transistor has a maximum gate-leakage current of 10pA; its loading on the charge holding capacitor is negligible. The open-loop voltage-gain of the system (Fig- ure 9) is approximately 100dB if the MOSFET is used in the source-follower mode with the CA3080A as the input ampli- fier. The open-loop output impedance (1/gM) of the 3N138 is approximately 220Ω because its transconductance is about 4,600µS at an operating current of 5mA.
